about

b. 1986, HK.

Hey there,

I’m Nicole VanDyke — a Michigan-based creative leader, designer, and visual storyteller with over 12 years of experience turning ideas into meaningful, strategic design. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Kendall College of Art & Design, I’ve built my career crafting thoughtful, high-impact work across industries including consumer goods, medical, nonprofit, and B2B/B2C.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with brands like Yankee Candle, Rubbermaid, Coleman, Graco, Sharpie, and Marketlab, helping to shape visual identities, lead omni-channel campaigns, and build cohesive brand systems that connect with audiences and drive results. Whether I’m directing a photoshoot, developing a creative brief, or mentoring designers, my goal is always the same — to create work that inspires, informs, and endures.

When I’m not designing, I’m usually creating through other mediums — carving linoleum blocks for Linolux Prints, my printmaking side project, or exploring new ideas in typography and handcrafted art. Outside the studio, you’ll find me adventuring with my French Bulldogs, kayaking Michigan’s lakes, or seeking creative inspiration wherever the road leads.

Let's make some magic happen!

Major Brands I’ve worked on :

Passion Projects

PrintMaking:
My passion to be creative goes far beyond my day job, I wanted to learn a new technique and so I have been working on a mastering a new skill; Printmaking. In each of my prints, I aim to find new ways explore the intricate textures that emerge from the carvings in linoleum blocks and the impressions ink creates on paper during the carving process.

I started making prints a few years ago as a way to further develop my illustration skills and find my drawing style. I love the imperfect unrefined texture that is created with the linoleum and ink. Each time the piece is slightly different.

Digital Illustration:

During the height of the COVID pandemic, I was looking for ways to stay creative as well as master a new skill, an area that I hadn’t had the opportunity to explore previously was digital illustration. I challenged myself to create some illustrations and build my skills and knowledge of those digital tools.

At the time, my husband and I had been hard at work remodeling our first home, that became the inspiration for this series called “home sweet home.”
